BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY : The first hard freeze of the season sets in tonight, with lows ranging from the upper teens north to the low 20 south.
Temperatures are already nearing freezing in areas to the far north, and we will stay below freezing overnight. Make sure pipes are protected, protect the plants and check on those around you, including furry friends, to make sure everyone has a warm shelter. We’ve had off and on snow flurries across north Alabama today and this activity will gradually decrease, with clearing.
VETERANS DAY : While the big freeze is expected early Tuesday, temperatures will rebound quickly, with highs in the low to middle 50s. Still chilly, but plan for a nice afternoon, with sunshine, and a lighter southwest wind at 5 to 10 mph.
