AAA Alabama will be giving away free steering wheel locks to some Hyundai and Kia owners as a way to combat car thefts.

AAA says it is working with Hyundai and Kia to help owners of 2011-2022 vehicles. There has been a significant increase in the theft of these vehicles.

At the events, AAA will distribute the locks on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Attendees will be asked to show their vehicle registration or insurance card to prove ownership.

Events will be held from 10AM-4PM on Thursday, November 13, in Montgomery and elsewhere across the state.

Birmingham office: 2400 Acton Road

Fultondale office: 3345 Lowery Parkway (Target Shopping Center)

Huntsville office: 2625 Memorial Parkway SW
