ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A blast of the season’s first frigid air is bearing down on north Georgia Monday night, with temperatures plunging into the 30s and dangerously close to the freezing mark.
“Yeah, this isn’t like Atlanta. It’s like Chicago,” said Greg Kipler of Atlanta.
Kipler was out for a run with his dog. While he was still wearing shorts for his run, he added a few extra layers over his T-shirt to stay warm.
“She comes out five days a week to run the Beltline. Summer heat, winter cold or whatever,” Kipler said.
People venturing outside bundled up in their winter gear as the cold snap serves as a reminder to winterize homes and avoid costly damage.
