ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Delta Air Lines pilot shared a heartfelt message with his passengers, assuring them that everything will be OK.

The now-viral video shows Captain Christopher Pennington on a flight from Atlanta to Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina on Nov. 6 calming any nerves of those on board.

“Nothing unsafe will come between me and getting my little girl ice cream,” he joked, while assuring passengers that they are safe.

Amid the government shutdown, air traffic control centers are short-staffed and dealing with callouts.
