MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — A 78-year-old Milledgeville man who operated an in-home daycare with his wife is behind bars, charged with molesting children in his care, according to a report from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said agents arrested Irvin Griffin on Thursday at his Underwood Road home. He faces two counts of child molestation.

Griffin and his wife, Iva Griffin, ran the Griffin Group Day Care Home out of their house, according to state records. Those records show that the facility had 10 children enrolled, ranging in age from 2 to 5 years old.

The investigation began last Wednesday when Milledgeville police requested GBI assistance after receiving troubling allegations.
