The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) is collecting food donations at all 14 of its branches leading into winter, the organization stated in a news release.
Throughout November and December, all food items donated to the library branches will be distributed to local organizations serving individuals and families across Mahoning County.
"This year, we've seen the need for food support in our community grow in a way we simply couldn't ignore," Aimee Fifarek, PLYMC director and CEO, stated. "As a public library, we are here to meet people where there -- whether that is offering free access to information and technology or helping hungry families."
