ORLANDO, Fla. – Dozens of Orange County leaders and representatives gathered Monday to honor those who have served in the U.S. military, marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.
The event featured multiple speakers and presentations by high school students, including performances by local high school singers.
Mayor Jerry Demings presented a special proclamation recognizing the service and sacrifice of veterans.
“This is an important time in our nation and an opportunity to say thank you to our veterans,” Demings said. “No matter what branch, rank or duty assignment, we celebrate our freedom because of your service.”
