SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Salvation Army has officially kicked off its annual Red Kettle campaign, and in San Angelo, the Salvation Army is hoping to collect $90,000 with this year's campaign.
Bell ringers will be out at retail locations during the holiday season, collecting donations. This is a more than century-old tradition from November through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.
"We're hoping to raise, it's not gonna be a lot, but we're hoping to raise $90,000 by December 24th," said Major Alfonso Martinez, Commanding Officer. "And part of those proceeds will help our programs, the shelter, they will help our youth programs, our social services, the utility assistance that we give out. And then the last part, you know, raise the money to help pay the bell ringers that are
