A few events dotted around Butler County will be held to recognize veterans and their service this Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The city of Butler will host a Veterans Day parade on Main Street, which is scheduled to start at 10:40 a.m. and pause at 11 a.m. to honor the signing of the armistice ending World War I. During the parade, Main Street will be closed from West Pearl to Wayne streets. The Butler Eagle will stream the parade live on our Facebook page.
Slippery Rock University will hold its own ceremony at 11 a.m. beginning in the Russell Wright Alumni House, 105 Campus Drive, Slippery Rock. The ceremony will recognize enlisted cadets and have an alumni speaker before concluding behind the building at the Alumni Veterans Memorial with a raising of the colors, wreath-laying cerem
