GRAND VALLEY, Colo. (KREX) - The government shutdown has entered its 41st day, with a recent Senate vote ending 60-40, but the shutdown is not officially over.

Nonprofits that work closely with federal entities, like the Colorado National Monument Association, are feeling the impact as the shutdown continues to affect operations and revenue streams.

"It's also been really disheartening and sad not to be in the national monument with our National Park Service friends and colleagues," said Ashley Ojala, executive director of the Colorado National Monument Association.

Paul Lhevine, CEO and President of the Colorado Nonprofit Association, noted, "We're really having these conversations around sharing resources, becoming organizationally interdependent versus organizationally independent."
