SUPERIOR, Wis.- The UWS women’s soccer team punched their ticket to the national tournament this past weekend.
UWS will take on 7th ranked UChicago in the first-round of the NCAA tournament.
In head coach Nick Piazza’s first season with the Yellowjackets, they returned to the top of the conference, claiming their 5th straight UMAC title with a 1-0 win over Northwestern.
Piazza says he will lean on his seven seniors during the Yellowjackets tournament run, especially against a tough first-round match up.
“If you look at them, they don’t allow a lot of shots. I think that they’re a pragmatic team. I think from that region that’s kind of a lot of what you see. They’re very smart in the way that they play.” said Piazza. “This group of players has been a
