SPARTANBURG, S.C. — State health officials are warning the public about a possible measles exposure at a Spartanburg restaurant earlier this month.
According to the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH), an individual who was infectious with measles was at Kanpai of Tokyo, located at 2300 Winchester Place in Spartanburg, on Sunday, Nov. 2, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
DPH is urging anyone who was at the restaurant during that time to monitor for symptoms — especially people who are not vaccinated or have never had measles.
Symptoms typically begin 7 to 12 days after exposure and can include cough, runny nose, red eyes and fever, followed by a rash that spreads from the face down to the rest of the body. Health officials say measles can be contagious up to four days before the ra
