A former Baldwin Park police officer was recently charged with stealing $104,947 from the police union during an 18-month period while he served as treasurer.

Andres Alfonso Villalobos, 35, pleaded not guilty to 29 counts of grand theft, one count of commercial burglary and two counts of possession of a destructive device during his arraignment Monday, Nov. 10, at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

His bail was set at $1.6 million.

The possession charges stem from Villalobos allegedly having two flash-bang grenades at his home.

If convicted as charged, Villalobos faces a possible sentence of 26 years and eight months in prison, the DA’s Office said.

He returns to court Nov. 24 to set
