WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — It’s been three days since the FAA ordered a 4% nationwide flight cut, and as airports prepare for an expected 10% reduction Friday, more travelers are facing delays and cancellations across the country.
At Bradley International Airport, departure boards were filled with orange and red on Sunday signs of flights that have either been delayed or canceled.
Officials said some of those cancellations are weather-related, not tied to the FAA cuts. Bradley reported 14 FAA-related cancellations since Friday, but a total of 24 total cancellations on Sunday.
No matter the reason, travelers said the stress is the same.
Those delays have become a familiar sight at Bradley in recent days as the ripple effects of the national flight cuts reach Connecticut.
