W ill momentum from the first phase carry forward to the second in the form of record high voter turnout? Could the second phase mark the turning point of the high-stakes Bihar election 2025? Answers to all these questions will be decided today as 3.7 crore voters head to polling booths in 122 seats across Bihar, including in districts bordering West Bengal, Jharkhand and Nepal.
In this phase, the electoral fate of 1,302 candidates hangs in the balance. Among key seats are Jamui, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Ghosi and Chanpatia. For Nitish Kumar, who has been administered the oath of office of chief minister nine times, this is a crucial election. Stakes are equally high for Tejashwi Yadav, the Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial prospect.
