IPSWICH, Mass. —
An Ipswich, Massachusetts, man is set to tell his father's World War II story on Veterans Day to the rest of the country.
The story centers on Jim Kurtz’s father, Robert Kurtz, who came home from war after being shot down and held in a German prisoner-of-war camp.
"This is his caterpillar. The Caterpillar Club is if you jump out of a plane and live to tell about it," Kurtz said.
Kurtz’s book, "The Green Box," is now a documentary film narrated by legendary actor Martin Sheen.
Kurtz says "The Green Box" is filled with stories of his father's air battles and capture in World War II in Europe.
His time as a POW, and then coming home to greet his wife, both of whom had kept his oldest son's baby slippers as good luck until Robert came home.
