President Donald Trump took a shot at Sergio Gor during the swearing-in ceremony for Gor as U.S. Ambassador to India on Monday.

The ceremony was held at the White House and featured what The Daily Beast flagged as an "awkward" moment — when the president publicly threw Gor under the bus.

“We have had a great team, a couple of mistakes there Sergio, but we won’t mention that,” Trump said to laughs. “Thank god, we got rid of them pretty quick. We found a couple we weren’t thrilled with, we got them out of here.”

The Beast noted Trump, 79, appeared to be referencing Gor's performance overseeing the appointments of thousands of executive branch staff while serving as director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office. The Beast noted he saw a record number of failed nominations.

Even so, Trump said he expects Gor will do “an outstanding job” in his new gig — but couldn't resist giving Gor another jab.

“I’ve known him for a long time and he’s a great guy and most people love him. Some don’t like him so much. I’ll be honest with you, Sergio,” Trump said. “Some people, when they don’t like Sergio, they don’t like him, but when they like him, they like him more than anybody.”
