After helping William & Mary rally for a 30-27 overtime victory Saturday at Campbell, kicker Keegan Shackford was honored as the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week.

Shackford made all three of his field-goal attempts, highlighted by a game-tying 38-yard kick with 1 second remaining in regulation. He connected on attempts from 41 and 47 yards during the first half.

Shackford, whose mother, Julie, is the Tribe’s women’s soccer coach, has made at least one field goal in six straight games and is 8 for 12 this season. He has made 32 of 33 PATs.

Fight prompts end of season for Guilford, Averett

Guilford and Averett are ending their football seasons early after getting in a major fight after Saturday’s contest, which the visiting Cougars won 27-21.
