DETROIT- Two Tigers players were named Silver Sluggers by the MLB for the first time in their careers.

Silver Slugger awards go to the top offensive player at each position in the NL and the AL, including three outfielders and one utility player. They are voted on by MLB managers and coaches.

Riley Greene won the award for the American League, claiming one of the outfield spots. Greene launched 36 home runs and added 111 RBI’s in his 2025 campaign. He is the first Tiger to win at the outfield position since 2015.

Zach McKinstry was the other winner at the utility position. McKinstry hit .259 this season with 12 home runs, 23 doubles, 11 triples, and 19 stolen bases. McKinstry started games at five different defensive positions during the year.
