PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball moved up slightly in the second AP Top 25 poll of the 2025-26 season.

The Cougars moved up from No. 8 to No. 7 in the latest rankings after a perfect week that saw BYU take down Villanova in Las Vegas and Holy Cross at home .

It remains the highest ranking for BYU since the 2011 season, which featured National Player of the Year Jimmer Fredette.

Along with making a slight jump in the ranking, another notable piece to this week’s AP Top 25 is that BYU’s upcoming opponent, UConn, also moved up a spot. UConn moved up from No. 4 to No. 3 in the AP Top 25.
