Walkers highlight growing litter crisis inside Cubbon Park, blaming poor enforcement, missing bins, and careless visitors for declining cleanliness

On Saturday morning, over 40 participants took to the streets for Project Walkaluru ’s second Footpath Walk. The event, held in partnership with the Greater Bengaluru Authority ’s (GBA) South City Corporation, brought together residents, civic officials, and city enthusiasts for a 5 km walk to test and celebrate the neighbourhood’s footpaths.

The group walked for nearly two hours across Koramangala 3rd Block, covering Sarjapur Road, 8th Main, 80 Feet Road, 7th Cross, and 16th Main. Along the route, participants paused to document obstacles — defined as anything forcing pedestrians off the footpath and onto the road.
