A major diet being promoted by the NHS promises to help people suffering from type 2 diabetes significantly lose weight and put 'their condition into remission'. The NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path To Remission Programme, otherwise known as the 'soups and shakes' diet, has seen a dramatic uptick in participants.
In 2024/25, over 13,000 people enrolled in the programme, representing a 100% increase from the previous year, when 6,401 participants were enrolled. Furthermore, people eligible to enrol in the programme will not need to pay for any of the support provided as it is fully funded by the NHS.
