ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Forest Park fire recruit has died, according to Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services.

Clayton County Fire said in a Facebook post Monday, “Our deepest sympathies and support go out to the Forest Park Fire Department as they navigate the profound loss of one of their fire recruits.”

The Georgia State Firefighters Association said the recruit died over the weekend “while off duty.”

Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services have not confirmed the recruit’s death.
