SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport City Council says don't blame the city for rats in Tinseltown theater.

Council member Grayson Boucher stressed property owners must help prevent rodent problems in a ditch near Millicent Way.

"I don't want us to get blamed," said Boucher.

Boucher raised concerns about reports of infestation at Tinseltown Theater and asked if nearby drainage issues could be contributing.

“We had problems in the past with that ditch back there, somebody put some fences up. ... We cited some people for dumping,” Boucher confirmed.

Officials also agreed to periodic inspections but stressed the city won’t take blame for private waste violations:

“I drove by there. It looks pretty good right now," added Boucher. "But I don't wanna get blamed for what’s going on inside the theat
