BEDFORD, N.H. —

Elizabeth Girard, a Republican running for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, officially launched her campaign on Monday.

"I am running for Congress because the opportunity to build a life in the live free or die state must be within reach for all Granite Staters," Girard said.

As head of the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women, Girard endorsed President Donald Trump in 2023, breaking the group's tradition of not picking sides in primaries. She later served as co-chair of Trump's New Hampshire campaign.

Girard's willingness to take a stand for Trump could be an asset in the 1st Congressional District GOP primary.
