MACON, Ga. — A newly-proposed housing development in Macon is taking the next step forward after the Macon-Bibb Planning and Zoning Committee approved to rezone nearly 35 acres of property on Lamar Road.
According to the application, developers are proposing an 82-home development at 855 and 857 Lamar Road after the previous proposal was denied in 2024.
However, some neighbors say they are against the proposed development, and many voiced their concerns at Monday's Planning and Zoning meeting.
Neighbors like Mary Jackson, who lives across the street from the rezoned property. She says she's worried about traffic and dangerous driving on Lamar Road, and says she's had two wrecks end up in her front lawn since she moved into her home six years ago.
