GREENVILLE, S.C. —

Greenville City Council is moving forward with an anti-camping ordinance to prevent people from sleeping and living in public spaces.

Monday's Greenville City Council meeting was an active one with discussion about the proposed camping ordinance.

The new rules would prohibit someone on public property from constructing any building or structure, whether permanent or temporary, without city permission. Officers requesting compliance can notify designated outreach personnel of an individual who may need it and inform the individual of available supportive services, verbally or in writing.
