Perhaps we're being a bit hasty in our declarations, but it's become impossible to deny Lake Catholic's recent dominance in the athletic sphere, especially when it comes to girls volleyball. On Sunday in Fairborn, the Cougars made history by capturing their fourth consecutive OHSAA state volleyball championship, and the second straight in the relatively new Division V.

The Cougs easily downed New Lextington in four sets, barely failing to complete a straight sweep in the third before dominating the fourth 25-14. Just as she did a year ago, Ahnna Bergant led her team in kills, this time with 23 as part of her game-high total of 26 points.
