Allentown’s Ella Sluder took a pass from Avery Gower at the left post and slipped it into the Haddonfield goal with 5:31 remaining in the first overtime to give the 6-seed Redbirds a 4-3 win over the 7-seed Bulldogs in the South Jersey, Group 2 semifinal in Allentown on Monday.

The win moves Allentown into the sectional final on Wednesday at top seeded Point Pleasant Boro, a 1-0 winner over 4-seed Seneca. Boro is ranked No. 8 in the NJ.com Top 20.

Sluder’s goal came as a result of some high-IQ play making by Gower, who had been moved into a defensive position for the overtime, but who managed to find herself with the ball in front of the Haddonfield goal.
