Authorities are carrying out further investigations as there may be more victims
The bodies of at least 16 people have been found in a secret cemetery near Mexico's Cancun.
Mexican authorities reported on Monday, November 10 the discovery of a property used as a clandestine grave site in a town near the Caribbean resort of Cancun.
The authorities found the remains of at least 16 people who are yet to be identified.
There could be more victims as there are still five points of "forensic interest" according to Quintana Roo attorney general Raciel Lopez Salazar.
The site was located in the town of Leona Vicario, 26 miles west of Cancun.
The skeletal remains were found in 10 different locations, covered with cement and quicklime.
Mexico has more than 133,000 registered missing persons
