The San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama secured a 121-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night at the United Center. The Bulls were short-handed, as Coby White missed the game due to a right calf injury, and Josh Giddey was sidelined with an ankle sprain.
Wembanyama has already sparked early-season buzz for multiple NBA awards. However, on Monday, he not only led his team to victory but also made history in the process. The former No. 1 overall pick finished the game with 38 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks.
With that stat line, Wembanyama broke a tie with Tim Duncan for the fifth-most 30/10/5/5-block games in NBA history. He also became the first player ever to record 35+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, 5+ three-pointers, and 5+ blocks in a single game.
