A 12-year-old girl has been arrested in two recent robberies in Northeast, the D.C. police said. In one, youths tried to take a bicycle from someone riding home from a store, but fled with groceries instead, the police said.

The Northeast robberies occurred Oct. 5, but the girl was arrested Sunday. Also arrested Sunday was a suspect in an armed downtown robbery who was stopped near the scene by members of the Secret Service and the National Guard, according to the police.
