The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the findings of its latest Independent Drive Test (IDT) assessing mobile network performance across Shillong city and East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Conducted between September 1 and 5, 2025, the tests covered over 269 kilometres of city routes, nine hotspot locations, and walk-test areas of 1.6 km, evaluating real-world network quality across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.
The extensive assessment spanned prominent urban and rural locations such as Police Bazaar, Ward’s Lake, Elephant Falls, Umiam Lake, IIM Shillong, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Mawphlang Sacred Forest, and Mawsmai Cave in Cherrapunji, among others.
