India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has finally returned home and started his recovery process but despite that he is most likely to miss the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. The series will be starting from November 30, but Iyer is still trying to recover and rest after he sustained a serious spleen injury.
In the third ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Shreyas Iyer took a stunning diving catch and dismissed Alex Carey but as soon as he fell on the ground he was seen in immense pain. Iyer was immediately taken to the hospital and remained under observation. An internal bleeding was detected and there was a spleen injury.
