Vince Gill is to be honoured with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.

On Monday, CMA officials announced that the I Still Believe in You hitmaker will accept the honour during the prizegiving held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on 19 November.

Gill's contribution to the country music industry will also be celebrated with a special tribute performance.

The singer-songwriter has not yet commented on the news, though he did share the announcement on his Instagram page.

And in a statement, CMA chief executive officer Sarah Trahern noted that Gill embodies the "very best" of what country music stands for.

"He's a true trailblazer, one who gives back to the community, honours the roots of our genre, and even now, continues to share his talent with fans across the globe," she praised. "As a Country Music Hall of Fame member, 18-time CMA Award winner and former 12-time CMA Awards host, he remains a vibrant force in our industry, and we're honoured to celebrate an artist whose influence is so deeply woven into the fabric of our format."

Most recently, the Oklahoma native released an EP titled 50 Years From Home: I Gave You Everything I Had.

Previous recipients of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award include Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Alan Jackson, and George Strait.
