A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Tuesday at 3:10 a.m. for lake effect snow until 4:15 a.m. for Northern Centre and Southern Centre as well as Clearfield, Blair, Huntingdon and Mifflin counties.
"At 3:09 a.m., a lake effect snow band was located along a line extending from near DuBois to near State College. Movement was east at 35 mph," describes the weather service.
Locations impacted by the alert include State College, Lewistown, DuBois, Clearfield, Sandy, Park Forest Village, Boalsburg, Philipsburg, Woodland, Curwensville, Stormstown, Lemont, Bald Eagle, Burnham, Belleville, Houserville, Warriors Mark, Pine Grove Mills, Milroy and Hyde. The snow can accumulate at a rate of one inch per hour or more in this lake effect snow band. Be prepared for hazardous driving
