The much-awaited by-election for the Dampa Legislative Assembly seat kicked off today, with polling beginning at 7:00 a.m. across 41 polling stations in the constituency. Voting will continue until 4:00 p.m., with results scheduled to be announced on 14 November 2025.

The by-election follows the demise of sitting MLA, Lalrintluanga Sailo on 21 July 2025. The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for the by-election on 6 October 2025, setting the stage for a keenly contested poll.
