Over 200 students from various departments participated in National Education Day 2025 at the Captain Williamson Sangma State University at Balakgre in Southwest Garo Hills on Tuesday.

“AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation” is the theme of National Education Day 2025.

The day-long programme, organized by the Department of Education, CWSSU featured insightful speeches, a symposium, and literary competitions.

The inaugural session, moderated by Dr. Geetam Chetry, began with a warm welcome address by Deiborme Lyngdoh. Singje Ch. Marak, Deputy Registrar, spoke on the significance of National Education Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister.

The keynote Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Januarius S.
