Iarrived at the iconic New York System "hot weiner" place on Smith Street the afternoon before the end of something .

The amazing Toprak family, which has kept the century-long tradition going for the past decade, is about to move on.

Its patriarch, Baba, bought it, and his impressive daughter Busra has been in charge since her teens and today is only 26 and saying goodbye to what had been a labor of love.

The good news that I later learned is that the New York System restaurant will remain in the same spot, a new family from the neighborhood having stepped up to buy it.

Still, Busra was on the eve of saying goodbye, and as we sat at one of its eight tables, I could see she was emotional.
