A major update over the BBC TV Licence fee has been issued - with the fee "under review". The BBC could face a "fundamental overhaul" after the Donald Trump row – with Nigel Farage saying the TV tax "cannot survive".

Labour Party Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy will launch a once-in-a-decade Royal Charter review in the coming weeks. It comes amid speculation the fee could rise £180 in April.

It comes after US president Trump threatened legal action if the corporation does not retract “false” statements made about him in a Panorama documentary. On Tuesday, November 11, Tim Davie, the outgoing BBC director general, said he was “very, very proud” of the BBC journalists working in the building.
