Patna, Nov 11 (UNI) A presiding officer, Arvind Kumar, died after cardiac arrest while he was on poll duty at Booth Number 189 in Arwal Assembly constituency undergoing polling under the second phase of the elections.
Official sources said here today the officer was rushed to the hospital soon after he suffered heart attack while on duty. The doctors, however pronounced him brought dead in the hospital.
A report from Bagha said that nearly 15,000 voters boycotted polling in support of their demands for construction of a road, bridges and drinking water facility. Reports were coming in of poll boycot from Banka, Araria and Rohtas too.
According to a report from Jehanabad, at least four people sustained injuries during polling at Booth Number 220 in Jehanabad.
