The U.S. Supreme Court will rule Tuesday on the future of SNAP payments that go out millions of Americans amid the ongoing government shutdown.

Tuesday's ruling comes after the Trump administration requested the ability to continue blocking states from providing full benefits. The White House argues the money might be needed elsewhere. Advertisement

An appeals court ordered full funding to kick in by Tuesday night unless the Supreme Court takes action.

Meanwhile, in Ohio, the state's Department of Jobs and Family Services says partial SNAP benefits for November will go out as soon as Wednesday.

Under new USDA guidelines, Ohioans on SNAP will see a 35% reduction in their benefits this month.

The amount received will depend on factors like income as well as housing and medical costs.
