BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The deadline to apply for Section 319 funding, which is used to support efforts to reduce pollution, has been extended for a final time due to the federal shutdown.
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) has extended the funding submission deadline to December 1.
These funds support local efforts to reduce nonpoint source pollution — water pollution that originates from multiple sources and is often carried by runoff — and protect the state's water resources. The efforts can include conservation, education, precision ag, and cost-share programs.
The NDDEQ says the extension issued Monday is the final one, regardless of the shutdown's status. To learn more about the program, click here.
