BANGOR, MI — There’s a power struggle in a small town in Southwest Michigan, where lawsuits are flying.
Bangor Mayor Lynne Farmer said City Manager/Police Chief Justin Weber is supposed to answer to her.
He won’t, she alleges, filing a lawsuit to bring order to the city of nearly 2,000 people, 10 miles from Lake Michigan.
Farmer, in her 14th year on the council, said Weber and six other councilmembers are in a “conspiracy” to get rid of her.
“The city manager wants to have all power,” Farmer said. “I am the only person standing between his all power and the citizens of Bangor.”
Weber fired back when asked about the mayor’s lawsuit, calling it “baseless and conclusory.”
