Detectives are searching for the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed a 45-year-old man this weekend near 35 th Avenue and Roosevelt Street in Phoenix.

The collision occurred about 9:40 p.m. Nov. 9. Mark Joseph Knapp was found in critical condition and taken to a hospital where he died.

The victim was walking east in the crosswalk on the north side of the intersection. He was crossing against the light when he was hit, police said.

The vehicle was traveling north on 35th Avenue, and the driver fled the scene.

The vehicle was later found just north, unoccupied.
