JAMMU, Nov 11: A 27-year-old man with a criminal background was seriously injured after being attacked by his rivals in Longotian village of Miran Sahib during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Police said the victim, identified as Kulbir Bhagat alias Rinku of Longotian, sustained grievous injuries, with one of his hands severed.

He was first taken to Sub-District Hospital R.S. Pura and later referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment, they said.

Following the incident, they added that a case FIR Number 147/2025 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Arms Act was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib, and investigation was initiated.
