(KIMT) -- We've got a nice Veterans Day on tap with temperatures climbing to the upper 40s to low 50s with breezy south winds to start. Winds will gust up to 30 MPH at times ahead of a passing cold front this afternoon. Once that front passes, northwest winds return, dropping temperatures steadily into the evening under a mostly sunny sky.
A slightly cooler Wednesday will be seen thanks to those northwest winds gusting up to 30 MPH.
We are still tracking a ridge of high pressure that is set to build into SE Minnesota and North Iowa Friday and Saturday.
This weather pattern will launch temperatures into the 60s! Clouds and rain chances will increase Saturday, but no washout is expected.
Much more seasonable weather is in store for Sunday and next week as a potent cold front passes late
