KENNER, La. —

The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed one case of measles at the Louis Armstrong Airport.

The LDH said the person was exposed to measles during international travel and a public exposure occurred on Sunday, Nov. 9, between 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Concourse B and beyond the security checkpoint at MSY. Advertisement

The person was not hospitalized and will remain in isolation until no longer infectious, and their vaccination status is unknown.

Measles can linger in the air for up to two hours after the infectious person leaves. The LDH will notify anyone who was on the same flight as the person with the confirmed case of measles.

This is the third reported case in Louisiana.
