Canadian-American singer Rufus Wainwright has shared his love for the Scottish Highlands, revealing he "treasures the memory" of when he first saw the jaw-dropping landscape, which brought a tear to his eye. ‌

The Happy Together hitmaker, who is the son of legendary folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and the late Kate McGarrigle, got the opportunity to travel to Scotland in his younger years. ‌

His father lived in London for a decade after divorcing his mother, and, on one occasion, drove Rufus and his sister Martha, who is also a singer-songwriter, to the Isle of Skye when they came to visit him in the UK. ‌
