A Turkish prosecutor has asked for a possible prison sentence of more than 2,000 years for Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, who has been in jail since March on corruption charges that he denies, Reuters reported.

According to the indictment filed by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office, Imamoglu and 401 others are accused of being part of a corruption network that allegedly caused losses of around 160 billion lira (about $3.8 billion) to the state over ten years.
